Today we went camping “up north”… it’s our second venture up north with the camper.

We are about were your knuckles would be in the mitt.  Once we got settled, we drove over to check out another couple of campgrounds a few miles away before they got crazy busy.

First we went over to North Higgins Lake State Park.

The water is an amazing blue… the water gets a darker blue as it gets deeper… but it is still very clear… and has a sandy bottom.   As good as the best Caribbean beach l’ve been to.

After getting to drive the campground, we went over to South Higgins State Park.. it was just as nice.

The swim area runs out about 200 yards and is only about waist high before the dramatic drop off.   Boats park along the edge and they swim on the back edge.

On the water back to our campground. We stopped off at one of the recreational trains to see a couple of glacial ponds / lakes.  From the observation deck / fishing peer you can see fish 30 feet below you.

We sat around enjoying the night air tonight.  The low is supposed to be about 50 tonight… good sleeping weather!
