2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,500 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Today we went over to see in Dearborn, MI.  Its like 14 acres under roof… I had no idea.  We spent all day walking around and did not see it all.  They have the Rosa Parks bus fully restored, the chair that Lincoln was killed in as well as presidential limousines from Regan, Kennedy, Truman, and Roosevelt (a carriage).  In addition to the autos, they had furniture, various types of engines, airplanes, and trains.

Next time, we are going to see the outdoor part… !

Christmas 2011

We had a good Christmas… it was just good to have everyone together again (and still have stupid).  We exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve and had a good evening.  On Sunday, we hung the new TV in the living room.  That was a challenge that I’m glad that I did not do alone…. it was a lot heavier than I thought.   We had a good time on Sunday and I had to do some work late in the day (New version install) but other than that it was a good family day!

They were afraid to watch Mason and I hang the TV….

Putting the House Together

We got most of the boxes cleared on the 1st floor and started to hang some pictures and things.  The idea is to get rid of as many boxes as possible when the trash company comes on Tuesdays!

December in Michigan

So, we got into the house (and out of the camper) before the first snowfall in Michigan…. but not by much.  Nine days into December and we’ve had snow showers or flurries every few days.  I have to say that its been very pretty in the morning with a little snow on the grass and a light flurry coming down.   Today was the first day where it covered the road here and kind of stuck… but by the afternoon it was melted on the roads.  We’ve been enjoying the snow the past few days… but still waiting for the big one.  I’ve got a feeling that we could have a white Christmas, and that would be just fine with me.

For now, the un-boxing will continue into the foreseeable future…. and we’ll enjoy the snow for now… check in with me in March to see if I still feel the same way.
