Friday night football

I got home from Detroit about 1:30 this morning… it was a productive trip, but long.  I had some meetings this morning, so I needed to go into the office, but I called it an early day.  Friday night we had Band Night at the football game.  So, there was a tailgate party before the game and then we did a post game show.  We used all of the cubes in the show this week; however, the wind (15 – 20 mph) made it a bit entertaining with the 12 foot cubes.  The adults needed to stay with the large cubes and hold them down.

Back to the Motor City

I got word this evening that I need to make a trip out to a client in Detroit tomorrow…  and back on Thursday night.

Westminster USSBA Show

Last night we placed second in our division at the 2009 Westminster USSBA Show.  It was a warm afternoon (high 70’s) and a cool evening in the low 60’s with a clear fall sky..  Today I’m off to the collegiate marching band festival in Allentown, PA.  It should be a fun time the festival starts at noon and runs through 5 PM this evening.  We have several past members of the SHS Marching band that will be performing with the various college bands.  Looking forward to another nice warm fall afternoon.

SHS Football Game with Littlestown

Last night we helped out the SHS Band at the Littlestown football game.  It started out as a really nice night, a bit breezy but nice.  right after the game started the rain started to move in.  It was that off and on kind of rain that went from very light to moderate…. not really a down poor.  It would rain for 3 – 4 min and then let up and then start again.  We reloaded all of the electronic and percussion instruments back into the trailers until just before performance time.  We got the show in with just some very light sprinkles and got everything reloaded after the performance before it started raining again.

On really cool thing was when the Pit made cymbal crashes there was a tone of water that just sprayed all over the place.  I was trying to capture that in a picture, but never could quite get it.

Today we have a USSBA Show in Westminster, MD and tomorrow is the 14th annual Collegiate Band Festival in Allentown, PA,  I’m really looking forward to the collegiate show.
